Mid Year Freakout Book Tag

I wasn't sure what I wanted to post this week on my blog, so when I saw this book tag floating around, I instantly wanted to do it! I can't believe its already June, half way through the year, time sure does fly by (especially when you're reading a good book).

1. The best book you’ve read so far this year?

New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson - This YA dystopian was the best book I've read so far, I loved all aspects of it, the plot, characters, romance & friendships, it was a fantastic read! (Read my review)

2. Your favourite sequel this year so far?

I haven't read many sequels this year so far, I've only mainly read stand alones or first books in series, but I would have to choose The Revolution of Ivy by Amy Engel. This wasn't my favourite series I've ever read, but I still quite enjoyed reading it & thought the story was very intriguing.

3. A new release that you haven’t read yet but really want to?

Legendary by Stephanie Garber is a much anticipated new release I've been so excited for, I loved the first book Caraval and I'm thrilled to be able to jump back into this world and experience it all again and get to see where the story ends up. I'm also very excited to be getting my hands on this book tomorrow!

4.  Most anticipated release for the second half of the year?

Sadie by Courtney Summers - I'm super stoked to read a new Courtney Summers book and the storyline sounds like its right down my alley, I can't wait to jump into this mystery suspense novel.

5. Your biggest disappointment?

Not a drop to drink by Mindy McGinnis - I had high hopes going into this book, and unfortunately it wasn't what I was hoping, it was a little uneventful and boring to say the least.

6. Biggest surprise of the year?

Honestly the biggest surprise for me was Caraval by Stephanie Garber, I don't read a lot of fantasy books so I wasn't necessarily expecting to love the story, but I did, and I'm glad I read it.

7. Favourite new to you or debut author?

Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne - Alexa Donne is a debut author and her new novel sucked me in and had me wanting to read more & more, Brightly Burning was written really well and I loved the Jane Eyre in space aspect the story told. (My Review)

8. Your new fiction crush?

Triven from New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson, he was totally swoon worthy, tough and completely caring when it came to Phoenix.
(I highly recommend you read this book).

9. New favourite character?

Phoenix from New World Rising, (can you tell I love this book?), she was a strong and selfless character and I loved following her throughout the story.

10. A book that made you cry?

Wait for Me by Caroline Leech told a beautiful story of a girl in Scotland during World War II, there was definitely one moment where I shed a few tears.

11. A book that made you happy?

I honestly can't think of a specific book, but I'd say all the books that I loved or enjoyed made me happy.

12. Your favourite book to movie adaptation that you’ve seen this year?

I absolutely loved the movie The Maze Runner: The Death Cure, I haven't read the books but enjoyed the movies, now I feel like watching it.

13. Favourite book post you’ve published this year?

My last book tag I did, I enjoyed doing it and loved how it turned out. Book Blogger Test Tag

14. The most beautiful book you have bought/received this year?

Olivia Twist by Lorie Langdon has the most stunning cover, and I'm currently reading it. (Stay tuned for an upcoming review).

15. What are some books that you need to read by the end of the year?

Well that wraps it up folks! Hope you enjoyed this tag & perhaps found some new books to read, let me know what some of your answers are!
