REVIEW: Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne
Title: Brightly Burning

Rating: 5/5 Stars

Absolutely amazing, best book I've read all year so far! Brightly Burning managed to get me out of a book slump which I'm highly thankful for.
Brightly Burning was everything I wanted in a sci-fi story; the character development, world building, relationships, romance, and mystery was all written and portrayed exquisitely, I loved it all!
It had my heart racing, Hugo & Stella were great main characters and I thoroughly enjoyed their story and growth.
Stella Ainsley, the main character was a delight to read about, she's a selfless & intelligent young woman with a bold personality who wasn't afraid to speak her mind.
Hugo Fairfax, Captain of the Rochester, was quite a mysterious character which went so well with the development of the plot. (I also really loved Jessa)
I thought the Jane Eyre inspiration the story included was done exceptionally well, which had a dark and mysterious feel to it, I thoroughly enjoyed how Donne managed to modernise that aspect of the story.
I don't usually read a lot of books set in space, but after reading this I've gained a new love for them.
I would've however liked a bit more information on what Hugo and Stella & the others were up to in the future in the end, other than that, it was great 100% recommend!
